Our mission is to help people connect with God
At one of the newest Franklin Indiana churches lives are being changed and people who formerly wanted nothing to do with church are now excited about coming to church on Sundays. That’s exactly what is happening at Journey. (The comments you see throughout our site are actual comments from guests.) Journey began in 2008 with a handful of people meeting in a living room Today hundreds of people gather each Sunday at Canary Creek Cinemas to worship God together. Over a hundred people have committed their lives to Christ, and eighty-eight have been baptized since we started.
What is Journey like?
Our two identical services, at 9:15 AM and 11:15 AM, feature a warm, friendly, casual atmosphere with upbeat music and practical teaching to enable you to experience God in a real way. We strive to be a place where nobody feels like an “outsider.” That means we don’t dress up, we don’t use Christian jargon and we don’t judge people by their appearance. It is our desire to have people from all walks of life in our church, and we want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome. Church lasts about an hour. Visit the Journey Cafe between services for FREE coffee and treats.
The teaching is expository (which simply means it brings out the meaning of a particular text or passage), relevant (you can relate it to your life situation) and applicable (you can apply it to your life). Sometimes we work through an entire book of the Bible and other times we discuss current topics and issues which might incorporate passages from more than one book at a time.
What do you have for kids?
We have lots of families with kids, so we have a Nursery for children from newborn to two, Jr. KidZone for kids from three years old through Kindergarten, and KidZone for kids from first through fifth grade.
What do I wear?
Most people dress casual, wearing jeans and shorts, and some people like to dress up. Wear whatever is comfortable for you, but clothing is not optional.
Who goes to Journey?
We welcome people no matter where they are on their spiritual journey and no matter what is going on in their lives. Therefore, we have people of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds. Some are getting to know God and the Bible for the first time, while others have been Christians for many years.
What denomination are you?
Journey Church is interdenominational, which means we have people from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. For information about what we believe, click here.
If so, then maybe your next step is to come to church on Sunday or contact us for more information.
