We're currently looking for two people to join our team. These are ministry positions, not just jobs. If you're only looking for a paycheck, this is not the place for you. Assistant to the Pastor

The Assistant to the Pastor reports directly to the Lead Pastor.  Ten hours a week to start,  but we expect this to increase to twenty hours a week as we are able to transition additional tasks.  When we resume in-person gatherings, you will need to be at church during weekend services. This position serves as the trusted assistant to the  Lead Pastor of Journey. She/he provides high-level support to the Lead Pastor in a wide range of activities in the performance of his administrative and ministerial responsibilities, while interacting with staff, congregational members and the community. Other general administrative duties are also involved. It is essential to have a pleasant and caring Christ-like spirit while being a self-starter who can handle several simultaneous tasks or projects. A good sense of humor and the ability to effectively work with a wide array of people will be necessary. The  Assistant to the Pastor must maintain a cheerful, organized and friendly atmosphere for all who enter the office area and meet the needs of guests, volunteers, and congregational members. Qualified applicants will have the following skills and characteristics.

- You must be proficient in word processing and spreadsheets (preferably Mac Pages and Numbers).
- You should be able to learn other computer programs and apps as needed.
- You need to have good people skills and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
- You must be well-organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- You should be to be able to lead others.
- You need to be a committed follower of Christ.
- You must agree to our Staff Expectations and Guidelines.

Custodian

This position will begin with ten hours per week, and increase as needed. More hours will be available if you have the skills to do repairs and maintenance. This is a ministry position, not just a job. Your work will help facilitate people finding and following Christ!  Qualified applicants will have the following skills and characteristics.

- Maintain clean church facilities by performing weekly duties and daily spot cleaning in all public areas of the building.
- Work with church staff to ensure that all areas are cleaned and stocked with necessary items.
- Observe proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents.
- Perform maintenance as needed, such as changing light bulbs and restocking bathrooms, and making repairs.
- Assist with event setup and clean-up.
- Take inventory of cleaners and other supplies and submit requests when items need to be replenished.
- You need to have good people skills and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
- You must be well-organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- You need to be a committed follower of Christ.
- You must agree to our Staff Expectations and Guidelines.
